Wondering If It's A Scam?

Though we try to warn you throughout the site, we still occasionally have people fall victim to scammers. Though we do our best to review all accounts before they are allowed to participate, sometimes people with bad intentions get through our lengthy review process.

So here are some signs to look for and tips to help you keep from being scammed.

1. A scammer will try to get you to communicate with him/her OFF of RealChristianSingles.com as quickly as possible - often in the first or second conversation. That's so that they can get an email address from you or, if they are able to, your phone number. They don't want you to be protected by the anonymity provided here on RealChristianSingles.com. Therefore we HIGHLY recommend that you utilize the ability to remain anonymous and private on this website for as long as possible.

2. Typically a scammer will have odd English flaws. For example: He/she might claim to be from America but use words and phrases that Americans typically do not. Often his/her knowledge of where states are located is very poor.

3. A scammer will attempt to move the relationship very quickly. Unusually and unnaturally quickly in fact.

4. A scammer will tell you that they work outside of the country. They'll remind you of this on occasion to prepare you for their first scam attempt. The story usually goes something like this: The scammer traveled out of town on business and was robbed of all their cash. If you would just mail/wire them a certain amount, they can pay you back within just a few days - once they're back in the country. And by the way, they can't stand to ask you but you're their only hope.

There are many variations of this scam. Some being a child who becomes very sick on an overseas trip. Again they ask for money to be sent to them for emergency medical treatment for the child.

The bottom line is that a scammer's business is to scam you out of your money. So if someone you meet here asks you for money, the odds are very high so as to make it a near certainty that he/she is trying to scam you. You should stop contact with that person immediately and report their account name to us for deletion and banning.

5. A scammer will supply pictures, personal history, stories and all kinds of other things to appear legitimate and weave themselves into your heart and mind. Remember, you're not their first time and you don't mean anything to them. They are very good at what they do and know just who to prey on. They are following a formula to get you ready for their pitch. If you don't give them money the first time they might try asking one more time and then they will disappear. From their perch in a foreign country (usually Nigeria or South Africa) they are working several people like you at once, moving them all along on a planned set of steps to make them most likely to fork over some cash. If someone gives the scammer cash, it's likely they'll ask for more within a few days and then they will disappear completely.

A Final Note

Be cautious. Don't be in a hurry to communicate off of this website. Keep your privacy for as long as possible. Real relationships take time to grow. If someone asks you for money, no matter how much you feel for them, it's a scam.

We all wish we lived in a better world but we simply don't. So the best thing we can do is to arm ourselves with knowledge and do our best to make it a better place.

This person goes by the name of Catherine Thompson. (Look out single guys) She/this person said that she is in England visiting her grandmother. I repeatedly asked where she was born and where she called home. No answer, but still recieved emails telling me she "longs for me, dreams of me" etc... The emails didn't make sense. A lot of broken English that didn't make sense. So far, she hasn't asked for money, but I'm sure it's coming. Just giving all the single guys a heads up. "if its sounds to good to be true...It is.

Yeshua,

We never give out your email address. They can send you a message through this site an you get an email about it, but we don't even allow you to put your email address on your profile. And we're telling you in this article that you shouldn't give out information or believe these people.

Why are you telling us to protect you more? The only thing we could do to protect you more is come to your house or apartment, watch you interact and tell you to follow the things we suggest in this article.

The article is very good. Too bad I read it when I went Very Happy through that ordeal, though I must add that it was somewhere else. These people have no consideration for the feelings of people.
I'm following all the recommendations and hope to find my soul mate.
Blessings to all. Very Happy
